Meet Bonnie

Why I chose to train with The Institute of Yoga Sports Science®:

I became aware of YSS through Yoga Alliance in early Spring 2020 when COVID hit the U.S. in alarming numbers. In April, I made the difficult choice to close my yoga studio after 6 years and migrate my business online. I viewed the studio closure as an opportunity to deepen my craft and pursue new opportunities.

The enrollment for the Science of Teaching Yoga for Athletes 40-hour immersion course presented itself and I signed up. From the beginning of the program, I found the curriculum thorough, engaging and insightful. The lens from which I viewed yoga, the practice and instruction, completely shifted. I found myself anticipating each lesson release like a giddy, nerdy school girl.

As a former youth athlete, and now with two athletic teenage daughters, my desire to learn more grew throughout the immersion course. When I learned about the Yoga Sports Coach certification program, I believed it was a new chapter to write in my yoga story.

The YSS Founder, Coaches and Staff are professional, knowledgeable and true servant leaders in our community. It is an honor to have been accepted into this program. I'm looking forward to the journey. With gratitude, Bonnie

Once I qualify as a Yoga Sports Coach™, I hope to:

As a Yoga Sports Coach, my desire is to help athletes experience the mind/body connection through mindful breathing and movement, enabling them to increase their performance and decrease the probability of injury.

Educating and empowering the athlete with these new tools (pranayama and asana) provides them an opportunity to gain a competitive edge and potentially lengthen their career.
