We recommend a blend of prerecorded and live classes to maintain a dynamic and engaging training. For more, please refer to our online best practices. 

Playing music during a yoga class, regardless of location, constitutes a public performance, which means you’re supposed to receive permission from the copyright owner. Rights are typically attained through the payment of a licensing fee to a Performing Rights Organization (PRO).

Unfortunately, this covers only music licensing in the United States. If you are a member outside the US, please consult a legal professional within your country.

 Consider the following:

If you are already teaching private classes (not where you are employed by a studio)

1. Consider charging a reduced rate for online classes since you probably don't have to pay for the venue you are teaching at.
2. Your time and preparation is of value so, don't devalue yourself (and other teachers) by charging too low a rate for your classes.
3. Create a package (discounted) rate to keep your students committed to class.

If you teach for a studio

1. Check to see if your studio is offering for you to teach your students online.
